CICN will be a recognized and referenced source of infection prevention and control best practice education in the Champlain region.
Mission
The Champlain Infection Control Network (CICN) is a catalyst for the development of best practices in Infection prevention and control. CICN identifies, gathers and provides necessary support and expertise to assist the Champlain District health care community in the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases.
Guiding Principles
- CICN will promote consistency in infection control practices across Champlain through communication, collaboration, and promotion of evidence-based best practices.
- CICN will assist regional partners in implementing infection control best practices by sharing expertise and resources.
- CICN activities will be locally relevant, tailored to the needs and priorities of Champlain District healthcare providers.
- CICN will serve as a channel for bi-directional communication between local healthcare providers and the provincial government on infection control issues, ensuring local issues and priorities are communicated to the province.
- CICN will not supplant or replace existing Infection Control core programs and personnel at the local level.
- CICN will integrate activities with existing programs within Champlain without duplication.
