student's perspective of the chica course
Andrea Fisher, an Infection Control Professional  (ICP) at The Ottawa Hospital, completed the first CHICA-Canada Novice Infection Prevention and Control course, an online distance program designed for the novice ICP.

Andrea enjoyed meeting other students online and learning through their experiences, challenges, and successes.  "Although it can be very time consuming to read all the postings, I found the on-line discussions to be very interesting.  Relevant case studies, helpful references, resources, and on-line discussions helped to create a positive, supportive, and fun learning environment.”  Working through the six modules and the 12-hour practicum proved to be time-consuming; although Andrea was advised to dedicate 12-15 hours per week to course work, she found this to be accurate to the actual time needed to complete the readings and online discussion postings.

Congratulations, Andrea, on completing the CHICA-Canada program.  You deserve to have your certificate proudly mounted in your office!
